Is The Summit Tubing Area the same as Snowflake Tubing?
Yes. Much like Summit East was formerly Hyak, The Summit Tubing Area used to be coined the Snowflake Tubing hill.
Where are you located?
Take interstate 90 to exit 53. Follow the signs from the off ramp to Summit Central. The Tubing Area Entrance is located in the SE corner of the Summit Central Main Parking Lot. You will see a large sign off the street that reads “Summit Tubing Area”.
Can we bring our own sleds and if so does it affect the price of admission?
No. Personal sledding devices are not allowed for liability reasons. The cost of admission includes use of our professional grade recreational tubes, our machine groomed tubing hill, and our surface tows which bring you back up the hill. Because we do not allow outside sledding devices, your price of admission will not deviate.
While The Summit does not allow sledding, several local sno-parks do. Click here for more information.
Are pets allowed at the tubing area?
No. Sorry, we love animals, but they do messy things to the snow and they pose a liability to our other guests. Please leave all animals at home when visiting us.
Can I make a reservation for tubing tickets?
We do not take reservations. Online ticket purchasing will be available again next winter.
I have tubing tickets for an upcoming date, but something has come up. Can I get a refund?
Tubing orders may be canceled and refunded up to 48 hours prior to your purchased time. All sales are final within 48 hours of your scheduled event.
How do I contact the Tubing Area?

Is there an age limit? And what is considered a youth?
We do not currently have an age minimum. We do not recommend children under the age of 3 to use our hills; however, we do leave the decision up the parents. Age 13 and older is considered an Adult and ages 6-12 years is considered a youth. Ages 5 and under are $5 per session for admission.
Can you ride double on your hills?
Children under the height of 42” may ride with another youth of the same size or an Adult. We do prohibit doubles for others due to liability. Under certain hill conditions these restrictions sometimes ease.
Do you have any specific rules at your area?
Indeed, we have a very specific code of conduct and set of rules. Our most basic rules restrict personal sledding devices and pets from the premises, require that every individual on the hill have purchased a ticket and filled out a release of liability form, and restrict multiple tubes (trains) or multiple riders per tube (doubles).
What are the hours for the tubing area…are you open midweek?
For our hours of operation, click here. We do not operate midweek except for holiday breaks and other midweek days that coincide with scheduled school closures. Hours are dependent upon weather conditions and may change at any time.
How do I purchase ahead of time?
Online ticket purchasing will return prior to the 2012/2013 winter season.
Is my BIG S season pass good for tubing?
The Big S UNLIMITED GOLD, PEAK TO SUMMIT, UNLIMITED AND L-T-D passes get you in the park; however, a tube rental fee of $5 is required for each session you choose to attend. BIG S NIGHT passholders receive the same treatment (free entrance and a $5 tubing rental), on Friday and Saturday nights for the 6pm-9pm session only.
Do you have a place to warm up and get something to eat?
The Summit Tubing area has a small café with a fairly extensive menu that offers everything from burger and fries to Caesar salad. Our dining hall is fairly small, but the overall atmosphere stays quaint even during busy times.
Can we rent your tubes and take them to a different area than your hills?
No.
When does your season typically run?
The Summit Tubing area usually opens around the first weekend in December and operates through the first weekend of April….snow permitting.
What is a tubing session?
Tubing tickets are sold for two-hour increments of time called sessions. These sessions help us provide a consistently safe hill by implementing crowd control and reducing congestion.
Do your sessions ever sell out?
Yes. Space in each session is limited and availability can also be affected by the weather. We encourage guests to leave a 30-45 minute window prior to the session time they desire for arrival. This will certainly help get the session you want; however, we can not guarantee availability since we do have such high levels of demand. Buying your tickets in advance online is the best way to ensure that you get your desired session.
Are you affiliated with the Sno-park?
No. The State of Washington operates the sno-parks and we are not affiliated with them in any way. Sno-park permits are available from the Forest Service building located next to Summit West.
Do you ever not operate because of the weather?
The Summit Tubing area is a snow tubing operation. If we do not have snow, or if conditions are dangerous, we do not operate. Current conditions are updated on a daily basis.
What is a Viewing Ticket?
Every individual that uses the tubing hill is required to have a ticket. A viewing ticket is a non-tubing ticket for admission into a session. A viewing ticket costs $5.
Where are the tubes located?
All the tubes are, of course, on the tubing hill. When your session begins head on out to the hill grab a tube and go.
Where do I buy tickets at the Tubing Area?
The Tubing ticket window office is located facing the tubing hill on the backside of the tubing lodge on the ground level.
How does this work?
At the ticket booth: Fill out a form, pick a session, pay, head to the hill.
On the hill: Grab a tube, use the handles, sit or lie on the tube, use a designated lane.
What if I have a lost item at the Tubing Area?
The best thing to do if you have misplaced or lost an item while visiting the Tubing area is to contact us directly at our main ticket office at (425) 434-6791. Hours are listed under “How do I contact the Tubing Area?” above.

Does everyone need to sign a liability form?
Yes. It is mandatory for each participant over the age of 18 sign a liability form to receive a ticket. Children under the age of 18 will need a signature from a consenting adult. Download the liability form here.
What does your tubing hill look like?
With ample snow our tubing hill is comprised of 12 lanes. Each lane is nearly the length of a football field and is groomed to perfection; maximizing your thrill and excitement as you zoom down the hill. Don’t fret…you have two options to reach the top of the hill again: choose to make the trek up the hill in our “walk up lane only”, or you can utilize our surface tow which allows you to sit back and relax on your tube as you are pulled to the top of the hill.
